Helvis have a broad heritage that spans bands such as Iron Monkey, Consumed, Cerebral Fix, Lysis, The Varukers, Drown, Bombscare, Dead Inside and Hard To Swallow amongst others. With that sort of baggage it’s not surprising that their sound turned out like it did.

In essence it feels like it’s survived a cryogenic freeze from the late 70’s and has been reanimated for the 21st century only to be crossbred with everything nasty about modern metal. It’s old school punk given a modern metalcore upgrade and with just a nod toward the fuzz of stonerville.

Yes, I know it sounds mad. It’s solid slabs of simple riffs, hammered out at a furious pace and the growling message is rammed down your throat. It’s as if some crazed loony brought Discharge back to life and asked Raging Speedhorn together with Charger to take them for flying lessons and Lemmy is the pilot!

That old school punk ethos, so reminiscent of Discharge, is very strong and great to hear. The result is fucked up street punk on acid, a dirty, couldn’t care less, thrash and snarl. If you don’t like it then fuck off!
