This four piece London based indie band has been tipped with having a useful reputation for tasty song writing and a wholesome live show. The next logical stage was to record some material and here we have their debut release in the guise of a three track single, showing a diverse cross-section of their work.

Lead track “Pollen” kicks off the proceedings with an urgent U2 spacey vibe - they use that kind of shrill echoing guitar style of The Edge. This is complemented with dry wavering vocals that are a little strained and fall flat on occasions, but they take on a slight distortion which helps them to work. “Haunted House” follows and has a laid back indie groove with a more pop orientated Embrace like sound. Finally, the acoustic “Safety In Numbness” heads towards Coldplay territory and relaxes further in an ambient and atmospheric sound with gentle almost whispered vocals.

This isn’t a bad effort and probably works well as an introduction to the band. Whether this is totally representative of the bands style is always difficult to gauge with just three songs, but hopefully we will get the opportunity to hear it develop into a full album.
