| Earthcorpse are a 5-piece band that hail from Guernsey consisting of Mark (Vocals), Bob & Phil (Guitars), John (Bass) and Daz (Drums). Their style is unashamedly in the death-metal camp with this CD released on Grave Records (WAKE CD0002) and features four tracks. | |
| The tracks 'Pure', 'In Darkness', 'Dead Lovers' and
'Perotine' are a solid example of death style metal, with a touch of doom mixed for
further melancholy (pagan metal). These songs contain an huge amount of fast double
bass drum work and highly technical and intricate guitar composition. This
combined with gruff, gravely vocals and screeching pestilence for backing, gives a package
that should not fail to please even the most hardcore of death extremist. The good production has helped create fine results with a clean, powerful sound and along with the rest of this professional package, I couldn't help but be influenced. This is not a sub-genre that I generally find easy to get along with musically, however after giving this CD time, I could appreciate the quality that was contained. |
