Of Infinity are a melodic and progressive metal band based out of San Antonio (Texas, USA) who are fronted by the rather captivating female vocals of Alessandra Zinicola. "The Essence Of Infinity" is their latest release - a three-track EP - which acts nicely as an opening taster of what you can expect from the band.

“The Voice Without” begins with strong solo guitars that entwine majestically into the surging rhythms, using thick floods of pounding double bass drums to focus the intensity, interspersed with gentle moments of delightfully harmonised vocals and ethereal voices.

“Shadow Of A Lie” blends gypsy folk with crushing metal. Spellbinding violin and acoustic guitar gently open, before bursting into energetic chugging riffs that continue to be accompanied by violin, painting an attractive anthem into the chorus.  Brooding and slightly dark, it casts a gothic light over a theatrical presence.

“It's Only For Forever” opens with keyboards that are soon punctuated by stark and stringent guitars, bleeding into a forming shape that is further embroidered by sweet vocals (which are occasionally misshape by just-ever-so-slightly maladroit lyrics).  This is a song with a classy melody that ultimately breaks into some soothing and tasteful piano with which to close the EP.

Of Infinity create a very European sound, somewhat unexpectedly from America and has echo’s of such great bands as Lacuna Coil, Nightwish and The Gathering. Alessandra’s hauntingly angelic, unsullied vocals provide character with which to distinguish this band from others, as does the building composures, thick guitar chords, violins and keyboards which often give a panoramic feel and big symphonic sound.  An excellent and professional promo pack goes further to underline the class of this band, who are well worth anyone’s time to check out. Recommended.
