DEMO REVIEW

THE MURDER OF...

These guys are young, these guys are English and these guys are amazing. If you remember what it was like the first time you heard the Locust then be prepared to relive that memory. First track kicks off with a lumbering, eyehategod style sludge riff before smashing into Locust style sci-grind mayhem. The track is littered with electronic noise stabs and weird slack vocals, and it just doesn’t let up. You can tell that these guys have got their heads screwed on. The influences are difficult to tell unless you actually listen to the bands in question. I personally would point towards An Albatross, Orchid, The Locust and The Blood Brothers but without sounding immediately like any of those bands. All of the music is played without fault, and to think that all of these guys are below twenty years old. All in all this is just stunning, I really hope that some label picks these guys up soon because they are a refreshing antidote to the pre-packaged angst of today’s young English bands.
