Sunna – Miocene - Crackout

Princess Charlotte, Leicester 11/03/01

By the time you read this Miocene will be massive. So big, they'll have to get their trousers from a tent maker and then make themselves hats out of leftover Christmas hampers. Imagine Rage Against the Machine duking it out with Led Zeppelin whilst Iggy Pop refs from the side. The sound is massive, the attitude huge and the feeling big, big, big. I'm telling you now, watch out for Miocene.

For Sunna it's as if someone replaced their guitar strings with lead. The already not unreasonably chunky sound of their debut album, 'One Minute Silence' suddenly becomes like Big Daddy in divers boots. On record what was mild and uninspiring becomes towering and beguiling with new single 'I'm Not Trading' standing out in particular. This is 100% power and the kids love it. Can we have more?

I missed Crackout but by the looks of things their impersonation of Walter from the Beano would have been the best thing about them. Probably.
