This London based trio take their name from the 20th century German composer Karlheinz Stockhausen 1958 minimal electronic composition 'Kontakte - fur elektronische Klange'. They seem to carry some of this influence both musically and conceptually and present here essentially six passages of music depicting thick swathes of space and texture which are then also represented a second time as six alternative remixes - so you can choose which you prefer. With music that sits in a permanently connected movement between post-rock guitar forays and sweetly empathic, soothing electronic sorties, it is purely instrumental without the need for vocals. The songs often contain a backbone of calm yet progressive melodies, samples, beats and rhythms that create ghostly shapes, which can softly smoulder or can be taken forward with gritty and wholesome guitar, sometimes heavy but always adding on an angle of intensity. These are cinematic songs that persuade your mind to relax and glide skywards on a steam driven magic carpet made from the finest silk and powered by intricate passion. This is not so much an album to sit and listen to specific tracks, but it’s more an album to create an ambience, an atmosphere for a cerebral massage and to take you on a journey away from where you are now. And there will definitely be days when each of us will need that!
