Formed from the core of the legendry doomsters Khang and also featuring the distinctive voice of Paul Catten (Medulla Nocte/Murder One), “Funeral Voyeur” is the second album from Lazarus Blackstar and undoubtedly resurrects where they left off with “Revelations”, but this time angrier, far nastier & even heavier!
Beware of crushingly heavy riffs that grind and pulverise, which sodomise your ears with brutality. Guitars that are tuned immeasurable low, so unfathomably deep they’ve become a profound subterraneous resonance. Watch out for the soul piercing vocals that grab deep into your very existence and tear randomly at any dangling threads of fear.
It’s brooding evil, dark dungeons of deathly depravity erupting a molten metamorphosis from caverns glowing red, deep within ones psyche. Here you will find some of the darkest moments you’re ever likely to experience, flowing from one chapter to the next, rampaging through subjects concealed safely away in most minds and parading them theatrically in ceremonial costume. And nothing is done with regret; everything is done with excess; this is intense sludgy doom pushed beyond limits.
And they do all this for you…. for nothing… nothing more than just one pound of your flesh… which will be taken when you least expect it, probably while you sleep. You’ll never close your eyes again, but this album is worth the consequences!
