| Ok, not quite sure what
to make of this. I'm sure there's people out there who would like this; I myself can't
make head or tail of this CD. Mathias are a horrible concoction, taking in influences ranging from Void to Bile and all the way back to stompalong thrash metal. The aspect that lets this band down the most is the vocals, to put it simply they are just dire, as are the lyrics. Second track 'Free Will' showcases some pretty tasty nu-metal harmonics whereas tracks such as 'The Onset' & 'Hate' stompalong like old skool Anthrax. And that's the problem, this CD just doesn't settle down. Its all over the place, one minute you get thrash, the next minute you get off kilter Voivod rhythms, and its all topped off with dire vocals.
