Beecher

This experimental noisecore outfit from Manchester  - the brain-child of Daniel Plant and Will Shaw, and spawning from local bands Automatic, Drmeatdic and Rex Kramer -  came about as a reaction to them being unhappy with what was going on in the local scene around 1999. Beecher (named after a character from an obscure American TV show) started as a three piece when Dave Hopkinson joined on Bass.  Mark Lyons (also of Drmeatdic) soon joined on second Guitar after some initial recording sessions.  As a very unusual addition, Richard Wood was asked to produced a set of short films that the band planned to use to accompany their music in the live environment.  Edward Godby, (ex-Summerbookclub) joined after seeing the bands first gig and became their frontman back in 2001.   And this became what was a stable line-up for a couple of years and throughout all of their recording to date.  Unfortunately, after completion of their first full length album "Breaking The Forth Wall" (their fifth and latest release), guitarist and founder member Daniel Plant decided that he wanted to pursue other musical avenues and left the band.

After a short period as a four-piece with the occasional help from Niall Wright (D-Rail) for gigs only, the band have now recruited as second guitarist Andy Sutcliffe (Canvas and Humanfly).  They are building on a strong reputation for their excellent live performances and will be keen to support the release of their new album for which they travelled to Boston, USA to record with the awesome producer Kurt Ballou.
